Final week to get in the game + April’s update

Hello Reader!

Apologies for the late update, the long weekend proved to be pretty packed as I wanted to get as much bug fixing into the alpha as possible!

Before I get onto the update one thing: for those of you who have NOT sent over a picture and a line for your statue in-game I am officially closing the doors this Sunday!

Please send over to:

Thank you – especially if you’ve already sent your pics and lines, they are awesome and also confirm what I already knew, that I have one HOT crew!

Right, back to the update…

April was an incredible month of game building, holiday making, script writing (alongside the talent that is Danny Homan and character designing (seen below including the fine work from MARVIN Clifford and George Meliss) along with some very, um, interesting statue and death scene ideas from most of you (more on that later)!

The game at large

First off, where’s the game at? Well Jason has now chatted, stolen, combined and performed some mild animal cruelty to paddle his way off of the initial island and has fought his way from the docks and up to the palace doors.

While these are all very wip I thought it was far beyond time that I got you all a look at how the game is coming along! Sad to say there have been some deaths along the way – of red skirts, that is! – which I have had to test over and over to make sure the story flows, its getting pretty masochistic in there!

What you see in the images is very placeholdery at the moment as I want to nail the story 100% before I continue with the character designs. Those of you who have offered to play the alpha build will be emailed this week to see what you think!

Research trip to not so Ancient Greece

Last month my Argonauts and I set sail for Ancient Crete, birthplace of modern civilisation and some of the greatest myths known today, particularly of the Minotaur and of Icarus – truly awesome and inspirational, I’ll put up more of the holiday snaps / research pics on the facebook page soon.

Scripts, characters and team building I don’t want to give away any plot spoilers just yet so will hold off on revealing too much at this point regarding the story however I would like to say that I can’t wait for to read and play through this story!

Both George and Marvin have been sketching up some great designs, really love the shapes and character they put into their work, really happy to have them on board!

So what’s next?

May is going to be one massive month, I’m hoping to (once again) complete the alpha including all script and placeholder art galore. I’m really happy with how the games’s coming together, hope you all will too!

More soon,

Kris

p.s. If you haven’t already, get me those pictures and lines, people!
